Heart Butte Scout Reservation

Located southwest of Bismarck on Lake Tschida, Heart Butte Scout Reservation is a great place to spend a weekend or as an overnight camping spot on your way west to a high adventure.

Two large campsites with shelters are always reserved for Scout use. 4 stall seasonal shower (all stalls are private), and a chothes washer and dryer are available during the camping season. Picnic shelters are located in the campsites. A lodge building, campfire ceremony area, OA site and chapel area are all available. The main lodge includes two fireplaces ( a fireplace insert in the fireplace in the "Great Room" makes the room very warm for winter campouts), a kitchen with six-burner stove, oven sinks, shower and a flush toilet, plus a health lodge with electrical connections for 2 to 3 campers (no heat in health lodge). The water is from new well dug in 2002, it is clear but hard. Good fishing, hiking, canoeing and a nearby public beach all make this a great location for a Troop outing.

Units should make reservations at least one month prior to usage, reservations can be made through the Bismarck office.

For additional information or to make a reservation contact the Bismarck service center at 701-223-7204.
