Scouting Heritage Society

The Scouting Heritage Society has been established, to recognize those who believe in preserving the tradition and values of Scouting, as well as perpetuating its future for generations to come. The Heritage Society is a program to recognize those who include Scouting in their estate planning or make outright gifts to the Endowment Fund of the Northern Lights Council, Boy Scouts of America. 

You may qualify for membership in the Heritage Society by:

Making outright gifts of cash, securities, stock, land, antiques, art, real estate, insurance, copyrights, oil rights to the Endowment Fund of the Northern Lights Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Making a new or revising an exiting will directing a percentage, fixed amount, or a contingency statement directing an eventual gift to the Endowment Fund of the Northern Lights Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Naming the Endowment Fund of the Northern Lights Council, Boy Scouts of America, as a primary or second beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy.

Creating a Charitable Remainder Interest or an Annuity Trust, a Pooled Life Income Agreement, a Charitable Gift Annuity, a Short-Term Trust, a Life Estate or bank deposit that eventually directs all or a portion of the principal to the Endowment Fund of the Northern Lights Council, Boy Scouts of America

Gifts to the Northern Lights Council’s Endowment Fund may be directed for general purposes or designated as restricted gifts for special purposes. There are many ways a gift can be made that will provide the greatest possible tax advantages. In addition, a planned gift can help achieve financial and estate planning objectives.
