2011 Fall Boy Scout Recruiting 'Bring a Friend' Campaign
The Northern Lights Council is committed to supporting efforts to build a strong Scouting tradition. Our goal is that every Troop runs a well-planned, youth-led, fun, adventurous program and operate at full strength. Now more than ever our communities need young people of exceptional character and citizenship. That is why we have established a Boy Scout Recruitment Plan.
As troops operate at full strength, with full patrols and youth leaders, the fun and excitement of the Scouting program can come to life. An annual recruiting plan is vital to the success of each troop and ultimately impacts the troop’s ability to provide high-quality program.
Throughout the Northern Lights Council there are more than 17,800 boys in grades 6th – 8th. Currently we serve 2,308 Boy Scouts, a significant fraction of the potential Scouts. With your help we can serve more young men in Scouting and build stronger troops. Please help us in our 2011 Fall Boy Scout Campaign. Our goal is to recruit 200 new Boy Scouts by the end of the year. To reach these boys we need the help of everyone.
The ‘Bring a Friend’ campaign is a program that will help your Troop recruit new Scouts. The recruitment booklet that details the suggested recruitment plan, a Troop Rally Program, a classroom visit plan, a patch for a boy who recruits another boy into your Troop and a “Bring a Friend to Scouting” event that will be held by your District is being mailed to all Scoutmasters or you can download a copy here Boy Scout Recruitment.pdf Please share this plan with your Troop Committee and Patrol Leaders Council.
