Capital Campaign...an investment in lasting values.

Camp Wilderness Capital Improvements. Building better programs by building better facilities.

The Council is happy to report that since 1998 more than $1.4 million has been raised and infused into Camp Wilderness to replace much of the camp infrastructure, with phases one, two and three of the four-phase campaign being completed.  Over the years, Scouting leaders have learned that the single most formative event in the life of a Scout is an extended camping experience.  To meet the needs of our Scouts and adult leaders, capital improvements continue to be made at Camp Wilderness.

Development of a Cub Scout Resident Camp.  Phase four in our “An Investment in Lasting Values” capital campaign is underway with a campaign goal of $1,000,000 for this much needed facility.  Surveys have shown that 95% of all boys joining Cub Scouting believe they will get the opportunity to go camping. Cub Scouts in our council do not currently have a resident camp facility.  Statistics show that Cubs who participate in a Cub Scout resident ‘overnight’ camping experience are more likely to stay in the Cub Scout program and continue on into Boy Scouting.
