POPCORN SALES THANK YOU!
A big thank you goes out to Sandy Meyer. Because of her leadership, our popcorn sales were a success. Sandy helps to make sure units are prepared and ready to sell popcorn. Thank you again to Sandy and to all the Unit Popcorn Kernels for your help!
RECRUITING LEADERS
The number one reason people volunteer? They are asked to help. Other reasons include: they see that there is a need and they believe they can help. Every parent needs to help, at least a little, be a part of the pine wood derby committee, Blue & Gold Banquet, etc. The BSA has a recruiting tool, Selecting Quality Leaders that is a step by step process for recruiting leaders. Contact the Scout Service Center for a copy.
WANTED: FRIENDS OF SCOUTING STORYTELLERS!
Did you have a great experience in Scouting? Are you excited about Scouting and what it’s doing for your boy or the youth in our communities? Would you like to share your story? We need your help!
Each year, the district puts together a Friends of Scouting (FOS) Storyteller team. This team is responsible for going to the various Blue and Gold Banquets and Troop Courts of Honor in January, February and March to talk about the Friends of Scouting campaign and to ask families to make a contribution to Scouting. The presentations only take about ten to fifteen minutes and serve as a great way to meet people, share Scouting’s wonderful story, fill up on a delicious meal and to play your part in helping raise dollars for the district and council. You haven’t had a meal until you’ve had a meal at a Cub Scout Pack Blue and Gold Banquet!
We also train and support each of our FOS Storytellers so that you are successful. If you are interested in being a FOS Storyteller, or if you know of someone who would be able to help, please email Curtis Olien, Family Friends of Scouting Chair at colien@tharaldson.com
We could use the help.
