OXCART TRAILS DISTRICT PINEWOOD DERBY RACE
The Oxcart Trails District race was hosted by Pack 304 this year at Minnesota Motors in Fergus Falls. The winners were 1st place Tyler Rittenhouse, Pack 336, 2nd place Dillan Pearson Pack 336, and 3rd place Spencer Jennen Pack 304. There was a small turn out but those that came had a great time and ample opportunity to race their cars. Thank you to Minnesota Motors for hosting this year’s event.
SCOUTING FOR FOOD
Dick Barsness reported that this year’s Scouting for Food numbers have hit the roof. The Oxcart Trails District Scouts collected over 14,000 pounds of food and $700.00 dollars that were turned in to area food shelves.
Thank you to all who took the time for this important event, and a special thank you to Dick for being our district Scouting for food chair again this year.

ON LINE EVENT REGISTRATION
Oxcart Trails has the privilege of being chosen to help develop and test the pilot program for on line registration in district events. Look for the link on the home page nlcbsa.org. Follow the instructions for each event you want to register your unit in. There is an option as to how you would like to pay after you have completed the process. We hope this will help to make the best use of your volunteer time. Please feel free to send me your comments and any ideas that could make it easier or more informative.
SPRING CAMP
The Oxcart Spring camp is scheduled for May 8th, 9th, and 10th at the Dayton Hollow Dam. Troop 357 is hosting this year’s event and the theme is Emergency Preparedness. Please review the merit badge requirements and choose one area your Troop would like to cover. Please allow at least 30 minutes for each session. Let Paul Skoblik know what area you are going to do. His email address is pmskoblik@netzero.net
CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP
The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center is the site of the Oxcart Trails day camp again this year. The staff and location really made for a great camp last year and we are sure it will be another great camp this year. Look for fliers coming out soon to your Scouts. We will have the Webelos overnight again. This includes a program put on by the staff of the center as well as supper. Please go on line and register your Scouts for the camp.
NEW UNIT SEARCH
If anyone in the District knows of an organization looking for a program that helps teach the values and leadership that the Boys Scouts strive to develop in young people, please tell them about the Scouting Program and then call me so I can follow up with a friendly visit. The more units we have in the district the better chance all of the boys will have the chance to be a Scout. With everyone’s help we can make it happen. Let’s all work to make sure all of the boys and girls in the Oxcart Trails District get the opportunity to be involved in a Pack, Troop, or Venture Crew. Let me know if you have any ideas for new units in the Oxcart District.
EXPLORING
Welcome to the newest Exploring Post in Pelican Rapids. Ringdahl Ambulance Service has started their second Post with great interest in the emergency medical field. Good luck to them. If you have a business or career opportunity that you would like to share with young people, let me know and I can show you what the Exploring program can do for you.
