Monthly Roundtables are conducted by each district in the Council to provide the latest program information, provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, resources and valuable information about the District activities.
What is it?
The aim of Roundtable is to provide the will and the skill to do. If leaders have these two things, they can succeed, and they will continue succeeding.
The will to do – in the form of morale, enthusiasm, and information – is distributed regularly.
The skill to do – in the form of program ideas, techniques, hands on experience and information is shared regularly.
A roundtable is:
- fun
- brimming with program ideas
- inspiring
- full of skills
- loaded with techniques
- practical hands on training
Who Attends Roundtables?
Roundtables are designed for all volunteers, i.e., Cub Scout Leader Roundtable should be attended by Den Leaders and their assistants, Webelos Leaders and their assistants, Cubmasters, assistant Cubmasters, Tiger Cub Coaches, and pack committee members. Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and troop committee members should attend Boy Scout Leader Roundtable. Webelos Den Leaders should be included for selected programs.
Unit Commissioners attend the roundtables in which their leaders are involved. This may mean dividing their time between Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader roundtables.
When and Where?
Roundtables are conducted monthly (except June and July) in each District in the Northern Lights Council. Each District meets during a specific time and place. Go directly to the District pages to get the schedule of meetings or call your local Scout office for more information.
